“David Arruga was born, grew up, and will die.
Along the way, he edited videos and caused trouble.”
He was born a chubby child prodigy. Every night before going to sleep, while other children prayed to God and all the saints, the cheerful David argued with Ford, De Sica, Riefenstahl, Berlanga, Wiseau, and many others.
Years passed, and while a notable colony of hair had already settled in the chest of our illustrious protagonist, the late-night dialectical battles gave way to a deep friendship between the boy and his excellent comrades. On the eve of Halley's Comet's visit, they proposed he film the never-before-filmed movie.
Without hesitation, the young Arruga packed his bags and, dressed in little more than a beret, some figs, and a camera under his arm, he resolutely headed, unafraid and humming the “soundtrack” of the Odessa Steps scene, towards the home of geniuses.
Some claim to have seen David Arruga Zurita's film in a small cinema somewhere in the world, others assure that he now lives on a Bermuda island where he is preparing a documentary with Monroe, Kennedy, Jackson, Presley, and Gil y Gil, while in a remote place in the Atlas Mountains, there is a community that follows his teachings and calls themselves "Arrugados" (Wrinkled ones).
But the truth is, nothing more was ever heard of him.
“When you have to choose between the truth and the legend, always choose the legend”
John Ford
