The objective of this internship will be to qualify and verify the applicability of the different existing methodologies and tools to study the effects of a channelizing ship on a moored ship by applying them to case studies.

2019 – 2022 > Final thesis > Thesis subject: "Application of a numerical model for the analysis of the movements of a cargo ship at site no. 8 of the port of Valparaíso". > Study and analysis of the movements of a moored cargo ship and the tensions of its mooring lines using FLOW-3D software. 2018 – 2019 > Numerical modeling > Study of the diffusion phenomenon in an explicit and implicit scheme. > Use of SWAN software: analysis of the spatial evolution of wave conditions for the study of steepness, refraction, and diffraction phenomena. 2017 – 2018 > Practical university projects > Characterization of swell in the Desventuradas Islands, Chile > Analysis of the spatial evolution of waves from the generation zone with the SWAN numerical model, Llanquihue Lake, Chile. > Study of astronomical and meteorological tides (Sea Level Monitoring Station) and overflow analysis, Antofagasta, Chile. > Structural project; design of the Caleta Cumbes pier with SAP 2000, Chile. > Design of maritime structures: Calculation of probable overflows at a study site, design of a breakwater, calculation of forces exerted by waves on a set of piles, and proposal of a methodology for the design of an underwater outfall.
