About Clément

In the development world for over 6 years now, I want to put my experience as a DevOps and developer at the disposal of my clients to provide them with cloud solutions adapted to their needs.

I have had the opportunity to work in very diverse environments, from young scale-ups that have recently raised funds to large consulting firms, as well as in "DIY" side-projects with a budget not exceeding a hundred euros. I have encountered a large number of architectures, technologies, ways of working, and needs. I propose to draw on the richness of these experiences to bring you the solution you need.

If I have managed to pique your curiosity, do not hesitate to contact me so that we can discuss your project and perhaps start a great collaboration! :)

    Technical Contributions

    Creation of Organizational Foundations:
    • Implementation of the company's AWS organization, including SSO configuration for centralized and secure access management.
    • Structuring of the GitHub organization to promote effective collaboration and adherence to DevOps best practices.
    Cloud Infrastructure Design and Deployment:

*Network:Implementation of a segmented and secure network architecture to ensure optimal isolation and scalability.

*Authentication:Configuration of Cognito User Pools for user and authentication management.

*Backend:Deployment of an Elastic Beanstalk application followed by an ECS (Elastic Container Service) cluster for hosting and managing backend services.

*Frontend:Implementation of a high-performance distribution infrastructure, with CloudFront and S3 for hosting and serving front-end assets.

Automation and Infrastructure Management:Use of GitHub Actions for automating CI/CD pipelines and OpenTofu for IaC.

    Contributions to Product Life Cycle

*Product Design and UX:I actively participated in the product design, ensuring that technical choices supported a smooth and intuitive user experience.

*User Relations:I had the opportunity to meet and interact directly with end-users and their CIOs, which allowed me to better understand their needs, constraints, and expectations. These interactions directly influenced product priorities and decisions.

*Strategic Support:My role was not limited to technical aspects but also involved supporting the product throughout its design and implementation, ensuring consistency between technical, UX, and business objectives.

    ENERGY AND UTILITIES
    May 2023 - Today (3 years and 3 months)
    Paris, France
During my assignment at the TotalEnergies Digital Factory (TDF), I had the opportunity to work on numerous projects within multidisciplinary squads dedicated to the creation of MVPs.

My role covered several key aspects:

*Cloud and Infrastructure:Design and implementation of robust and scalable cloud architectures on Azure and AWS, using tools like Terraform for infrastructure as code.

*CI/CD and Automation:Configuration and optimization of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with GitHub Actions.

*Monitoring and Observability:Deployment of advanced monitoring systems with Grafana to ensure the reliability, performance, and observability of applications in production.

*Security:Integration of security measures from the design phase, such as identity and access management (IAM), application of encryption best practices, and regular security testing to reduce risks.

*FinOps:Analysis and optimization of cloud costs, implementation of tracking dashboards for proactive expense management, and recommendations to maximize return on investment.

In addition to these technical contributions, I played an active role in:

*Continuous Improvement:Participation in internal innersourcing initiatives aimed at improving work processes, promoting collaboration between teams, and sharing best practices, particularly within Communities of Practice (CoP).

*Interdisciplinary Flexibility:Collaboration on tasks in data engineering, data science (especially around generative AI), and cybersecurity, demonstrating my ability to quickly adapt to varied and innovative challenges.

    CONSULTING AND AUDITS
    October 2020 - August 2022 (1 year and 10 months)
    Paris, France
During my experience at Octo, I had the opportunity to work on several assignments, the most significant being an eighteen-month assignment at TotalEnergies as a DevOps.

Within a multidisciplinary squad, I was responsible for setting up the cloud infrastructure on Azure, implementing CI/CD on Azure DevOps then on GitHub Actions, as well as security, monitoring, and FinOps. I also participated in the development of the backend in Java and occasionally the frontend with Angular/Typescript.

During this experience, I was able to leverage my skills to support a product throughout its lifecycle, from design to production.
I took it upon myself to share DevOps best practices (security, architecture, performance, observability, finance...) within the team as well as within the Total Digital Factory (TDF). This mission allowed me to forge the conviction that a DevOps is not just a support function within the team but a full member, committed to the product's design to lead it to success.

Outside of the mission described above, I participated in other shorter assignments:
A consulting mission (1 month) as a Data Engineer to study the migration of a data warehouse to GCP. I was able to develop my consulting and architecture skills and work on Google's cloud for the first time.
A mission as a DevOps (1 month) during which I had to set up private GitLab runners on AWS using Terraform and Ansible. I also had the opportunity to set up monitoring for these runners using Prometheus and Grafana.
