Christian Fleck

As a physicist (Dr. rer. nat.) and former professor of Systems Biology, I help companies make robust decisions and models from complex – often incomplete – data: from the initial concept to a production-ready prototype.

My strength lies at the intersection of machine learning, mathematical-statistical modeling, and scientific computing. I build forecasting and simulation models even when the data situation is sparse or noisy (hybrid/grey-box models, uncertainty quantification) – and I will honestly tell you where a model is applicable and where its limitations lie. This reliability is more important to me than pretty but misleading results.

In over 15 years, I have worked in science and industry: as a group leader and professor, as a co-founder and Head of R&D of a food-tech startup, and as a coordinator of international research projects. This dual role shapes my approach – scientific depth combined with entrepreneurial pragmatism and a focus on the essentials.

What clients appreciate: I explain complex issues understandably – for experts as well as for decision-makers without a technical background. I work in a structured way, document comprehensibly, and deliver what has been agreed upon. And I also say when another approach is better.

Application areas include food/supply chain analytics, life sciences, and deep tech – I am broadly applicable methodologically.
