The company ABP Éditions is looking for translations not only faithful but also perfectly clear and fluid for the international bestsellers it publishes, as they are intended for audiobooks. Furthermore, the very nature of these works requires the translator to pay particular attention to how the author develops their thoughts, as well as to the specific vocabulary and particular phrasing that characterize them. Some of the dozen books I have worked on:

- La Route de la richesse (original title: Way to Wealth) by Benjamin Franklin;

- Tais-toi et agis! (original title: Just Shut Up and Do It!) by Brian Tracy;

- Lâcher prise (original title: Letting Go) by Dr. David R. Hawkins;

- La 8e Habitude (original title: The 8th Habit) by Stephen R. Covey.

the binary family GMBH, a company specializing in porting intelligent games to iPhone and Android, was looking for a lexicology expert to create a French version of its crossword puzzle application.

First, it was necessary to check, correct, and adapt a database of approximately 40,000 words and their definitions, with the objective:

- that the words are valid and correctly spelled;

- that the definitions are relevant and impeccably written;

- that no definition exceeds 36 characters.

A second phase of the work consisted of classifying the word/definition groups by degree of difficulty, to allow players to choose their level. At this stage, where most of the work is done using artificial intelligence, I intervene occasionally to validate the result of the procedures used or to provide guidance that allows programmers to improve them.

Another particularity of this project is that the dozen people involved come from all over the world (we are only two French speakers), and most of the communication is done in English.

Since December 2022, I have been proofreading most of Shingfoo Editions' novels.

For some, they are novels by French authors, for which I perform a complete correction (spelling, grammar, punctuation, typography, and style).

For others, they are translations of English novels. In addition to what I do for French novels, I correct translation errors by referring to the original text provided to me.
