Caroline Grillot

With a university background in Sinology and Ethnology, and several years as a social anthropology researcher in China and Vietnam, I have a deep familiarity with China dating back to 1989. I have lived and worked in various Chinese provinces for over 13 years, in both rural and urban settings, and interacted with all social classes (artists, marginalized individuals, border entrepreneurs, farmers, intellectuals). I acquired my Mandarin proficiency mainly in China and am accustomed to various accents and dialects. I translate in the fields of art, literature, and social sciences. I also undertake interpreting assignments in both public and private sectors.

Concurrently, I teach Mandarin in private lessons, as part of professional training, and at a Community Center.

Finally, as the author of numerous scientific and literary publications, I now offer my writing skills to others, having worked for several years as a private biographical writer (writing and/or editing manuscripts) and as a manuscript proofreader/editor (autobiographies/fiction/academic work).
