Caroline Constant

Illustrator and graphic designer, born in 1975, in Île-de-France; graduated from the École Supérieure d’Arts Appliquées Dupérré. Freelancing since 2005.

Influenced by comic books since childhood and the daughter of a painter, I use digital drawing, line art, freehand, and clear line, with a focus on essentialism and readability, while prioritizing details and associating them with flat colors, for a style that is modern, simple, colorful, fresh, offbeat, and poetic. I work with colors through contrasting relationships, always with vibrant, offbeat, and joyful hues. My favorite subjects are architecture and urban landscapes, such as the "Voyaginaire" series, by diverting reality towards the imaginary using Google Street View and vivid color palettes, towards increasingly abstract and minimalist compositions; or in my "Parisian Monuments" series, a sort of long suspended moments, losing myself in the details. I also practice portrait drawing through my "Human Masks" collection and more recently, the "The Forgotten" series, which is more engaged and militant.

And always, my passion for graphic design and color – and the immediate joy they bring me – connects and permeates my different illustration series.

I work in vector format on Adobe Fresco on iPad Pro then Adobe Illustrator on computer.
