About Bram

I've been in web development for a while, over ten years, and I've seen trends come and go. I've directly experienced how this tumultuous industry has evolved into what it is today. I am part of a small movement of developers who are critical of a number of persistent trends.

It seems to be the norm for my fellow developers to design software by picking super cool, modern technologies and sticking them together. I call this form of architecture a 'house of cards.' Such technical terms look good on your resume and, to my astonishment, it even works! Even though only 10% of the code is actually executed, adjustments need to be made in 10 different places, the vendor folder is 10 gigabytes, it takes an hour to build, and mysterious bugs pop up here and there. To each their own, but not for me.

I will design a framework for you, from the ground up, that can do everything you expect from an entire tech stack. It will be as simple as possible, easily expandable, with standardized elements that can easily be added in a single place. Based on this framework, developers can develop rapidly without surprises. This way, your project will be efficient, robust, and future-proof. Everything is perfectly tailored to the actual function. I will provide a strong foundation on which to build your dream house.

Share your idea with me, general or detailed, it doesn't matter. Then we'll brainstorm together to make it fully concrete. I will guide the process from dream to implementation, entirely according to your wishes. Existing projects can also benefit from this, as there's a chance your current implementation is hindering development so much that a startup competitor can easily overtake you. You can choose to go down the same path at any time.

Experience

  • Vectasus
    Self-employed
    March 2023 - Today (3 years and 3 months)
    Wijchen, Netherlands
I build SaaS applications to release myself. I also do freelance assignments as a side income. It's my first experience as self-employed, and I love developing myself in this area. Not only am I responsible for design to implementation, front-end to back-end, but I also really enjoy visual design, marketing, and networking. At networking events, I meet my "colleagues," and we strengthen each other with our expertise. I'll never go back!
  • Indicia
    Programmer
    May 2023 - June 2023 (1 month)
    Tilburg, Netherlands
Indicia is a large commercial company that builds custom applications for its clients. Unfortunately, the work did not suit me at all, but I was always well taken care of. Company lunch, involvement with colleagues, regular fun activities. If it suits you, I can certainly recommend them.

    October 2020 - April 2023 (2 years and 6 months)
    's Hertogenbosch, NB, Netherlands
At Novict, I worked with a relatively small team to build a SaaS application for the administration of skin therapists. SkinAdmin is the market leader in its niche and has been around for years. I was responsible for the back-end and was allowed to implement several new systems.
