Benjamin Brandt

In the birthplace of Karl Marx, an exhibition titled "From Trier to the World" presents the life and work of Karl Marx and his impact. As part of a team with my colleague Maya Hässig, I have been designing various communication materials since 2019, ranging from breakfast boards and the accompanying book for the permanent exhibition to the smartphone app for the museum. The design is consistently based on the house's corporate design and incorporates the look of the exhibition newly established in 2018, especially the distinctive wall lettering and illustrations.

For several years, I researched, illustrated, and implemented image concepts and infographics for the magazine of the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger for various, daily current features within strictly standardized layout specifications and tight deadlines. The subject areas were diverse and included, for example, sustainability, health, digitalization, consumer tips, and many more.

From 2014 to 2017, I was responsible for the graphic implementation of a variety of projects at the School of Computing & Information Sciences at Florida International University in Miami. This included presentation, print, and branding tasks, but the focus was on interface and user experience for apps, websites, and other applications.
