Development of a search interface for a Buddhist document database

As part of a mission for an organization dedicated to collecting and digitizing Buddhist documents, I was tasked with developing a proof of concept for a search interface for their new database using Elasticsearch / OpenSearch. The goal was to enable intuitive and efficient navigation among thousands of stored documents.

To meet this need, I implemented an interface in ReactJS using the Searchkit and React-InstantSearch libraries to facilitate data search and filtering. The interface includes facets (dynamic filters), an interactive search bar, and optimized search results for a smooth user experience.

Before starting development, I conducted a thorough review to ensure the suggested libraries met the project's requirements in terms of performance and flexibility. I then collaborated closely with an UX designer, a backend developer, and the Product Owner to ensure the interface met the end-users' expectations while aligning with the organization's objectives.

These technologies enabled me to automate the extraction of relevant information from multiple online sources while respecting the complex structures of the forums.
