Aurore Sokpoh

Skilled in Policy Analysis and Advocacy, African Affairs, Global Development Finance and Gender. Experienced critical economist with a demonstrated history of working in the private sector, and think-tank and NGOs. Strongly driven by resolving social an economic development issues of relevance to #Africa, Ms Sokpoh holds an MSc in Africa and International Development from The University of Edinburgh and a master’s in Development Economics from the Université Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne. She doubled majored in Law and Economics from the Université Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne.

Aurore Sokpoh joined the Finance for Development Lab in November 2022. She mainly works on the Amplifying Africa’s Voice Initiative. Prior to joining the Lab, Aurore held different research analysis and coordination positions. At the pan-African organisation AFRODAD, she carried out cross-disciplinary research on the interplays of public debt policies, taxation, and gender in Africa. She has also worked for the French Private Equity organisation France Invest, where she led research on the private equity industry in France and on the African continent.

Aurore has produced several written outputs, some of which focus on the African debt sustainability and the impact of the global tax reform on developing countries. Furthermore, she has organised, facilitated, and coordinated policy- and practice-related conferences, workshops, and seminars, including AFRODAD’s African Conference on Debt and Development.
