You could certainly call me a "convinced offender." In fact, I have always loved photography - it is still my greatest hobby today. At the same time, it has become my profession - and when you do what you love every day, you never have to work - as the saying goes.
In short, I had my first professional steps as a freelancer for the photographic tasks of a newspaper alongside my studies.
When the opportunity arose, I applied for an internship as a press photographer. After completing it, I was appointed to the team as a press photographer by the editorial team of the daily newspaper.
The tasks included teamwork with editors, timely delivery of the created photos, and developing and enlarging the image material in our own darkroom.
To choose my professional freedom, I later successfully became self-employed with a photo studio in the media city of Cologne.
Here, among other things, I worked as a freelance photographer creating many press photos for ADAC-Nordrhein. Clients also included music producers who commissioned CD covers or magazine titles from me.
Some time later, I was also able to include the "Weddings" area in my scope of duties. I have never counted them, but in recent years about 300-350 bridal couples should have been accompanied by me with the camera.
These could be short civil or church ceremonies; but there were also weddings where the light was not turned off even after eight to ten hours...
Several years ago, another major change was due. I closed the Cologne studio because I moved to Münster for private reasons. Fortunately, little has changed in my area of responsibility.
I would be pleased if we could work together in the future - in the field of photography or image editing.
