Motoyuki Miyagawa

After graduating with a degree in French Literature from Waseda University, I worked at a French language school in Tokyo, an institution highly focused on culture that frequently organized film screenings and other events.

I then worked at a language training center for JICA, a governmental international aid organization, where I had the opportunity to learn about the varieties of French, mainly in Africa, which led me to conduct field research in Africa on the theme of Francophonie in Africa as part of the postgraduate course in Linguistics at the University of Tsukuba. I visited North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa and gained a lot of new knowledge, not only linguistically but also culturally. I planned a doctoral thesis at the doctoral school of Paris 13 University (currently on hold).

Since 2017, I have been working as a freelance interpreter/translator.
