Angel Cortés

From a Mallorcan father and a La Mancha mother, I was born in October 1986 in Cartagena, where I completed my primary (Antonio Ulloa) and secondary studies with excellent grades (IES Ben Arabí - Bilingual Section).

I developed my social and linguistic skills through cultural exchanges with French high schools (Grenoble and Paris).

After passing the Selectividad with a notable grade, I enrolled in SEF courses (Chemical Plant and IT) while the Translation and Interpreting (French) studies were being implemented at the University of Murcia.

During my university studies, I completed extracurricular professional internships at translation and tourism agencies "Alide Intérpretes". This first experience allowed me to truly experience the demands of the profession.

Likewise, I was appointed Degree Delegate and Student Coordinator for the Student Council. I participated in different round tables, meetings, seminars, and faculty meetings regarding Study Plans and Educational Reforms during the Bologna Process.

In my 2nd year of university, I enjoyed an Erasmus scholarship at the San Pellegrino University in Misano Adriático (Italy).

Graduating in 2009, I obtained a scholarship in the Multilingualism Department of the European Parliament (Brussels), developing a Training Software to help future professionals prepare for the complicated Official Examination for Conference Interpreters.

In 2010, I enrolled in the "Master's in Teacher Training". During this period, I found the job I had long wanted to obtain at the company IDEA Ingeniería.

2018, I became a teacher and manager of the "The Lemon Tree" Study Center, juggling it with a part-time job as a postman for Correos. 2021: I am looking for new motivating professional projects such as teaching in state-subsidized schools and cooperatives (La Santa Cruz, Sangonera) and currently, at the Bilingual School NARVAL, Cartagena, and as an SEF teacher for English and French courses for EZOS.
