Álvaro Germán Vilela

I have been working as a Director of Photography and Photographer for over 20 years, developing part of my career in film and television, photographing documentaries, music videos, and advertising campaigns for a variety of clients such as Mediaset, A3Media, RTVE, Localia, TF1, AMC Network (Canal Cocina), Paramount Pictures, Sony Music, and Nintendo.

Since 2006, I have specialized in creating international editorial content: lifestyle, product, advertising, travel, or documentary photography.

My work is distributed internationally by the most prominent agencies in the sector, such as Alamy, GettyImages, or Adobe, resulting in over 200,000 sales of my photographs, which are published daily worldwide in magazines like Traveler, travel guides from DK Editorial or Lonely Planet, book covers from Penguin Random House, TV shows like Forged in Fire & various multimedia content. Thus, my photographs are seen by millions of people.

As a Basque lover of cooking and photography, my interests lie in gastronomic photography, a specialty I dedicate to the editorial, Horeca, and advertising sectors, opting for a simple yet impactful aesthetic style, working closely with brands, companies, and agencies.

Similarly, I am available for applying new visual trends and for developing new and constant challenges in digital photography. In this area, I have collaborated with companies such as Nikon, Eizo, Kodak, and X-Rite for the training and development of post-production and digitalization workflows, applying them in close collaboration with photographers like Pablo Campbert for advertising campaigns for Fundador or institutional campaigns for the Community of Madrid.
