“Design guided by drawing, material, and place”

Before any digital modeling, I anchor each project in a hand-drawing phase. Like Phidias, I consider the manual gesture as a foundational act: it allows us to capture the spirit of the place, the light, the proportions, and how the building interacts with its environment.

I draw direct inspiration from the site, its constraints, and its qualities, and I use watercolor to explore technical, environmental, and architectural avenues. These sketches become sensitive preliminary designs, where materiality, atmosphere, and construction intentions are already present.

This approach highlights the feel of the building, provides a clear direction before CAD, and offers clients understandable, human, and grounded proposals.
