Alexander Schrapel

I help companies operate their IT infrastructures reliably, securely, and with a high degree of automation. With over 15 years of experience as a DevOps specialist, I support teams in efficiently building, scaling, and operating complex systems long-term – from CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration to cloud architectures.

My focus is clearly on Linux and open-source technologies. I have worked with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift in numerous projects and successfully established them in both large and small environments. I cover the entire lifecycle from conception and architecture to operation, monitoring, and further development.

What particularly distinguishes me is my passion for automation – whether classic with Infrastructure-as-Code or increasingly through the use of AI-powered solutions. I combine this enthusiasm with a deep understanding of complex, regulated environments such as banking, pharmaceuticals, and air traffic, as well as agile working methods (Scrum, Kanban).

I have worked on international projects with companies of all sizes – from startups to corporations like Volkswagen, Bayer, and Finanz Informatik. Typical project types include building scalable microservices architectures, developing CI/CD workflows, or implementing highly available and secure platforms.

Remote work is my preferred form of collaboration. If necessary, I travel up to 20% of the time, in blocks of at least three days.
