Valentine Zeler

Based in the Grand-Est region, I studied journalism in Paris before training in documentary photography at EMI CDI University of Perpignan.

In 2018, after winning a first prize in photography (Prix François Chalais) and completing a 3-month internship in the AFP photo department, I launched my own business as a photographer and joined the Hans Lucas Agency. Initially working in Paris for various media outlets, I returned to my roots in Strasbourg and have since worked with media, companies, individuals, and institutions such as the City of Strasbourg and the European Parliament.

My images have been published in The Guardian, NRC, Le Monde, Libération, and Le Figaro.

In parallel, I create projects combining various mediums, such as sound, writing, and photography, which are complementary forms of expression for me. My projects have been exhibited and one of them has been published.

My preferred themes are: memory, with the creation of the project 'Mémoire d'Hommes' and the photo reportage 'Pour ne jamais oublier'; the relationship between humans and landscape with the photo/sound project 'Conversation avec la montagne'; and more recently, climate disruption, with 'Nos paysage intérieurs', which addresses the first forest fires the Vosges have known, in 2022.
