Akeneo is a company in the Product Information Management (PIM) solutions sector, aiming to help businesses efficiently and consistently centralize, enrich, and distribute their product data across all sales channels.

The company had several hundred clients worldwide, including international brands and distributors, and employed approximately 300 people at the end of 2024.

I joined the "Complex Projects" team, part of a group consisting of 2 developers, 1 Designer, 1 Engineering Manager, and 1 Product Manager.

As a Fullstack developer, I performed the following tasks:

◦ Strategic redesign of the data model to position Akeneo against the competition.

◦ I contributed to the transformation of Akeneo's data model, moving from a flat structure to a hierarchical model allowing for product attribute inheritance — a key feature to attract large enterprises accustomed to Master Data Management (MDM) solutions. This evolution directly addressed a critical issue during commercial negotiations: offering flexibility and scalability comparable to market leaders, while retaining the agility and user-friendliness that are Akeneo's strengths. Result: a major differentiating argument for winning over demanding clients historically acquired by competitors.

The Fork is a company in the online restaurant reservation sector, aiming to facilitate the connection between restaurants and their customers through an intuitive and efficient digital platform, while offering an urban and community-based gastronomic guide.

The company has over 420 million customers, 60,000 partner restaurants in Europe, and a team of over 1,000 employees (called "Forkies").

I joined the Supply team to participate in adding new features and decommissioning legacy projects.

The team consisted of 6 developers, 1 Product Manager (PM), and 1 Engineering Manager (EM).

As a FullStack developer, I was responsible for:

• Improving the development experience by defining common best practices and simplifying the code and tools for writing tests.

• Reorganizing rights management by defining an exhaustive list of features, centralizing the display and access rights management. This allowed for redefining the packages offered to clients and activating certain parts for promotions.

• Participating in the integration of features from old Symfony projects into new NodeJS projects to allow for the decommissioning of projects that could no longer be maintained.

• Breaking down requirements into clear and actionable US, User Story definition workshop with the PO.

• Writing detailed technical architecture documentation (ADR) of the technical solution.

• Code review and continuous integration.

• Production deployment.

• Performing tests.
