Nico Vainio

I am Nico Vainio. A Finn living in Bordeaux. A computer engineer by training, a graduate of the Helsinki University of Technology, I have built over 25 years of experience - from the trading floors of an investment bank in Helsinki to the medical imaging servers of French clinics and hospitals. My background is solid, varied, and built on the silent discipline of a job well done.

There's something typically Nordic about me: no-nonsense rigor, pragmatism, and real satisfaction when systems run smoothly. I don't sell myself with fanfare - I prefer results to speak for themselves.

But I am sociable and open, comfortable in several languages and cultures, which makes me accessible where other engineers remain locked in their technical world.

In 2025, I took the natural step: I founded Vélo-Iinformatique, my own independent consulting firm. The name says it all - I travel by bike in the Bordeaux metropolitan area to help seniors, individuals, and small businesses with their IT needs. No jargon, no unnecessary complexity. Just someone competent who comes to your home, explains calmly, and leaves once the problem is solved.

I operate under the auspices of the Coop'Alpha cooperative, with professional liability insurance, free quotes, and serious follow-up - the mark of someone who has learned, over years in hospitals and banks, that documentation and reliability are never optional.

Outside of work, I ride (naturally), read comic books and science fiction, and practice Nordic walking.
