Reliability (SRE): Implemented HPA (Horizontal Pod Autoscaling) and multi-region disaster recovery to ensure 99.99% uptime for Shopware/WordPress workloads.

Senior DevOps Engineer | Huf Secure Mobile (May 2018 – Nov 2021)

Huf Secure Mobile (a subsidiary of Huf Group) specializes in digital car key solutions ("Phone as a Key") and telematics for the automotive and car rental industries. I was brought in to modernize the legacy infrastructure that powers secure vehicle access for thousands of users.

The Challenge: The existing platform—responsible for real-time digital key delivery (BLE/NFC) and vehicle telematics—was running on a legacy, monolithic architecture (Virtual Machines managed via Vagrant) that was becoming difficult to scale and maintain.

My Role & Deliverables:

Legacy-to-Cloud Native Migration: Led the complete migration of the production environment from static Virtual Machines to a containerized Kubernetes architecture. I containerized the core application stack (Java/Python services) using Docker, reducing deployment times from hours to minutes.

Security & Hardware Integration: Integrated the new Kubernetes cluster with Hardware Security Modules (HSM/KMS). This was critical for generating and storing the cryptographic keys used for vehicle authentication (Digital Keys), ensuring banking-grade security for the "SixSense" product line.

Message Queuing & Async Communication: Re-architected the messaging layer using RabbitMQ to handle high-frequency telematics data between vehicles, mobile apps, and the backend, ensuring zero data loss during connectivity drops.

Identity Management: Implemented centralized authentication using LDAP and modern OIDC standards to manage access control across the new microservices landscape.

Result: Transformed a fragile, manual infrastructure into a self-healing, auto-scaling Kubernetes platform that could support the rapid growth of Huf’s "Car Rental Solutions" (Move Mee) and digital fleet management services.
