Lindsay Jones

I offer freelance translation, proofreading, editing, post-editing and localisation services across a range of subject areas. I work with the language pairs of German>English, French>English and Swedish>English, as well as English only texts of US>UK English adaptations. My clients know that they can expect a reliable, prompt and professional service from me, with high-quality results based on a combination of sound knowledge, stylistic expertise and attention to detail. My main specialist fields are general business/commercial publications (including annual reports), financial translation, international development cooperation, life sciences and patient-facing medical/healthcare communications and texts relating to arts, culture and humanities. I also welcome any projects with a creative emphasis - such as marketing translations - and work relating to sport, education, museums and travel and tourism. I am also an Associate Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.

I spent over 13 years building up my professional knowledge, skills, expertise and experience at AST, not just as a translator, but also as a proofreader, editor, manager, project manager and mentor. During this time, I became proficient in translating and proofreading a wide range of text types across an equally wide range subject areas for clients across Europe (with a particular focus on Switzerland). I also recruited, trained and mentored new translators just entering the industry, and continuously worked on my own professional development through training and practice in using translation technology (CAT tools, machine translation post-editing) and specialist areas (e.g. finance/ banking, medical and pharmaceutical documentation, humanitarian aid/ international development).
