I have experienced IT projects from both sides - as a lean consultant in production and as an IT project manager in international transformations. The most common reason for delays and frustration was rarely the technology. It was a lack of clarity at the beginning.

This is me

I am Johannes, a freelance IT project manager and business process consultant from Kassel.

I have over 14 years of experience in project management and consulting roles, in IT and operational environments, with large corporations like Atos and Volkswagen, as well as in medium-sized companies like Viessmann. Almost six years of this was in China, where I worked and completed my MBA at Fudan University Shanghai concurrently.

In my private life, I prefer to be outdoors - hiking, jogging, and occasionally sleeping under the open sky. I enjoy learning new things, whether it's languages, history, new tools, or new ways of collaboration. And I read a lot, from non-fiction to novels.

This is what I do

I help SMEs to bring their IT implementation projects to a successful conclusion in a focused and stress-free manner.

This begins before the actual project: With a preliminary study, process and organization analyses, as well as workshops for systematic requirements clarification. Based on this, I develop the project organization, with a special focus on consistently breaking down silos. To do this, I form E2E teams of experts from the involved departments and anchor the cross-functional collaboration in the project plan.

Furthermore, I advise on setting up an IT Project Management Office - from a 360° assessment of the initial situation, through the design of structures, methods, and interfaces, to support during the initial phase of regular operation.
