Fanny Havel

My name is Fanny. French by birth, Canadian by adoption.

I help businesses address their target audience in their language and according to their culture.

Languages are my thing. I started learning English when I was 3 years old.

Then I learned Spanish, Catalan, Swedish, Japanese, and my latest, Welsh.

Communication has always interested me, especially with foreigners, which is why I obtained a Master's degree in Translation.

I apply the principles of intercultural communication to my translation practice. I don't just translate words, but also meaning and form. For me, an advertisement is only well translated if it also sells in the target language. Sometimes, translating the words is not enough for that.

I have lived in 5 different countries. So I first had direct experience of intercultural communication, but I also trained in this field to have more knowledge and references to draw upon in order to produce quality translations.

Whether for translations, subtitling, or consecutive interpreting (interpreting where I speak right after you), I can truly help you communicate with your audience in a way that won't be lost in translation!

I have already worked in the following fields: aeronautics, agriculture, automotive, education, mental health, public service, I even worked for the Olympic Games, board game producers, and an opera company!
