Civilization | Long-term documentary project

Civilization is an independent documentary project spanning several years, dedicated to the life forms, traditions, and cultural balances of communities often absent from dominant narratives.

The project is based on rigorous fieldwork, emphasizing long-term engagement, upstream preparation, and discreet presence. It questions how so-called peripheral societies are navigating modernity today, not through simplistic opposition, but through a complex and often fragile coexistence.

Civilization unfolds in geographical chapters. The first was developed in Central Asia, particularly in Afghanistan, in the Pamir regions, on the borders of Afghanistan and China, before continuing in China, around Kashgar and its peripheries. The work relies on prolonged immersion, attentive observation of gestures, gazes, and ordinary situations.

The objective is neither exoticism nor folkloric illustration, but the creation of a contemporary visual archive, rooted in reality, intended for journalism, publishing, and cultural institutions. Civilization is designed as a basis for collaboration with international media, museums, and organizations involved in cultural, social, and human issues.
