My Story

Early roles in IT support and problem management gave way, gradually, to something more interesting: the question of not just how systems worked, but how businesses worked, and whether the two could be made to work together.

That question led me to ERP. And ERP led me to Oracle NetSuite.

My first steps into the NetSuite world came at RSM UK, where I trained under some of the most rigorous consultants in the profession.

From there, the path wound through Emma Bridgewater, where I learned what it means to be the sole custodian of a system that a whole business depends on, and then to NoBlue, where I spent three years going deeper, the painstaking work of making financial data mean something.

At UCAS, I encountered a different kind of challenge, not implementation, but stewardship. The work was architectural: holding together a complex ecosystem of NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, CRM, tax, and payment platforms, and ensuring that the data flowing between them remained clean, coherent, and trustworthy. It is quieter work than a go-live, but in many ways more important. A system poorly maintained drifts. The drift is rarely dramatic.

At Afiniti, the work became global, coordinating finance systems across North America, Central Europe, and South Asia, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, and learning that the hardest part of any systems role is not the configuration but the conversation. Getting people in different time zones, with different priorities and different levels of trust in the platform, to move in the same direction.

In 2026, I joined ClearCourse as a NetSuite Transformation Analyst, working across optimisation, integrations, and the onboarding of newly acquired businesses, the sharp, interesting work of bringing unfamiliar systems into alignment with a shared standard.

It is, I think, a modest ambition. But modest ambitions, pursued with genuine care, tend to matter most.
