Project: Automation of Web interface and RESTful API tests

Context:

Distech Controls enables connected buildings to communicate with their occupants. The solutions facilitate building management and energy efficiency. I was responsible for maintaining and improving automated tests for the ECLYPSE controller's Web page and the ECY-STAT connected thermostat. The Web interface allows installers to manage network and system configuration, select connection modes, configure user management, and auxiliary equipment: Bluetooth - I/O Module - Light.

All information present in the Eclypse and ECY-STAT controllers is accessible via a RESTFul API that allows reading and writing BACnet data, configuring the Eclypse system, and managing users.

I was also responsible for maintaining and improving the automated API testing solution using Postman.

Software Quality Activities:

- Development of software test plans and writing of test scenarios in Azure DevOps Test Plan

- Functional tests of software products and UI component libraries (React)

- Implementation and maintenance of automated tests:

• Web page using Ranorex

• Refactoring DOM access via RanorexXPath (XPath Query Language)

• Preparation of data sets (CSV)
